You Are In A Good Place
As i was watching this interview a thought came to my head..It's funny how Africa is grouped as one country, yet these two Africans ( Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Trevor Noah) have different stories to tell about their Africa. In Chimamanda's words," ...coming [to America] and discovering that i am black, in some ways Trevor and i have such different experiences because we grew up in just different parts of Africa...."
Not just in Africa, but here in America. Everyone has a different story of their America or what it means to live and be American. An Asian-American will tell you a totally different story from an African- American or White-American. A person living in California will experience things differently from someone living in North Carolina.
Basically, I think that's the way Life is. These versatalities in our experiences are what makes life interesting.
You call someone your sister, brother, or best friend doesn't necessarily mean you get to experience life the same way as they do.
Same goes to life encounters, a friend gets a new job and badass ride and you didn't ... shouldn't make you feel bad. Everyone experiences life differently. When it's your turn or time, yours will come.
Funny thing, whenever i start thinking .. " Oh! i'm not where i wanna be in life" or "At my age i haven't accomplished a lot i that i'm supposed to accompolish." My sisters, Ada and Agbo will always tell me," Ugo, just remember that there are people that wanna be where you are right now, and trust me you are in a great place."
So i'll use similar words... trust me you are in a good place, surely your time will come.
